Also known as Bangor, 1 Short Street is a carpenter gothic house. First occupied by William Edward Best, a draper, Bangor was run for many decades as a boarding house. In 1974 it became the legal offices of the Tasmanian Aboriginal Land Council. Now a home, a new bathroom and adjoining Wunderkammer have been recently completed. If you want to know what a Wunderkammer is, you will have to pay a visit!
