Open Practice: MANA & Futago
Level 2, 81 Salamanca Place, Battery Point

MANA is a recently established architectural studio founded by three friends with a shared wealth of experience across diverse sectors—including residential, multi-residential, education, hospitality, and commercial fit-outs. Driven by curiosity and collaboration, we believe in creating architecture that is generous in spirit and responsive to both individual and collective needs. Our work embraces a sense of playfulness and joy, reflecting our commitment to thoughtful, human-centred design.
MANA shares a studio with Futago, a graphic design firm responsible for the branding and identity of Open House Hobart. The fit-out was designed by INTERIA in collaboration with Futago over 10 years ago.
Salamanca was known as New Wharf, one of the world’s largest whaling ports in the 1800s. Convicts quarried sandstone from the cliffs below Battery Point to build the warehouses originally used to store whaling products, wool, and grain. These historic buildings now contain a variety of hospitality venues, bespoke art stores, and galleries activating the pedestrian realm, with studios and businesses occupying the levels above. A vibrant and inspiring location for an architectural and graphic design studio!
Open: Thursday 6 November, 4:30pm-6pm
Note: MANA’s studio is above Salamanca shops Tiger ina Papera and Lime Design Studio. Enter a lobby and alight the staircase up to level 2.
