“The open living room” – Kindness creates kindness
This installation invites people of all genders and backgrounds to spend time together in an open living room. Built from second-hand furniture, it supports the circular economy and zero waste principles.
Located at the Elizabeth St Mall, a space usually associated with shopping and passing through, the living room offers an opportunity to slow down, appreciate the surroundings, play, read, and create. There will be books, puzzles, board games, and drawing materials for all.
After the installation, all furniture and items will return to the marketplace or be donated to the Tip Shop to find a new home.
I hope this installation brings together people from all walks of life, connecting friends, families, and strangers to share a moment of kindness and joy.
Please take your shoes off and have fun.
