Performance by Design
What does a home feel like when it is designed around comfort, warmth and energy efficiency from the very beginning?
Step inside this new Hobart home and discover how careful design can create a house that is quiet, comfortable and remarkably efficient, even on one of the city’s shadier sites.
Ambitiously targeting the international Passivhaus Standard, the home uses triple glazing, highly airtight construction and heat-recovery ventilation to maintain a stable indoor environment while minimising energy use.
Look closer and discover how seemingly simple design decisions work together to change the way the house performs and feels. From the way the building responds to its site to the carefully considered construction and ventilation systems, every element has a role to play.
Come and have a look inside and discover what sustainable design can feel like when performance is built into the architecture from the start.
