Architect/s: Forward Viney, (Mike Viney with Garry Forward & Craig Rosevear) (1994)
The Clemens Hill property was sub-divided from historic 1840s Craigow in the 1970s. The property was bought by Kevin and Jacqueline Wagner in 1990, at the encouragement of their son, artist Luke Wagner, who convinced his parents to engage Mike Viney as the architect. Inspired by a love of classical Italian architecture, Mike Viney designed the house in 1994 with Gary Forward, and a young Craig Rosevear drafted the design.
Dr John Sheppard established the original vines at Clemens Hill, and enhanced the terraces, providing spectacular views over the Coal River Valley and Pittwater. After purchasing the property in 2013, Dr Rob Ware and Maria D’Ettorre improved the vineyard by grafting different varieties and establishing a reputation for high quality wines. Rob and Maria have renovated the interiors, rebuilt the gardens from scratch, and added a new cellar door, presenting a glorious experience for visitors.
Open: Saturday 24 February, 1 pm – 4 pm
Note: This is a general open; however, you must register to attend the property.
Access: The house has several levels; the terraces and gardens are accessible.
