Dysart House
24 Main St, Kempton

Architect: Unknown
Built in 1842 as the Green Ponds Inn, Dysart House in Kempton is one of Tasmania’s grandest Georgian coaching inns. With sweeping Tuscan columns, wings wrapped around a vast courtyard and six hectares of history, it has been a travellers’ hub, girls’ school, doctor’s surgery and home to notables. Now a whiskey distillery, it still hums with the stories of colonists, coaches and whispered secrets from centuries past.
Open: Saturday 1 & Sunday 2 November, 10am-1pm
