Looking Again at Glenorchy
What do you notice when you slow down and really look at a place you think you know?
Join archaeologist and heritage officer David Parham on a guided walk through the heart of Glenorchy, beginning at O’Brien’s Bridge and following Main Road through the CBD before crossing the railway line and finishing at Glenorchy War Memorial Pool.
Along the way, look closer at the monumental and the modest, the familiar and the easily overlooked. Discover traces of Glenorchy’s past, places that continue to shape community life today, and the layers of history embedded in its streets, buildings and public spaces.
The walk invites you to see Glenorchy with fresh eyes, uncovering stories and details that can be easy to miss when we are simply passing through.
Come and have a look, slow down and discover another side of Glenorchy.
