Her Excellency the Honourable Barbara Baker AC, Governor of Tasmania, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers, AO warmly welcomes all Tasmanians and visitors to Government House Tasmania Open Day.

Set on a grand estate on 15 hectares overlooking Hobart and timtumili minanya/the River Derwent, this significant site has been home to Tasmania’s Governors since 1858, a fine example of an early Victorian country house in neo-Gothic style and one of the largest of its type in Australia.
The Government House State Rooms, Fine Silverware and Crystal, Heritage European and Early Convict Built Furniture, Estate Kitchen Garden Display, Artworks, and Pictorial History Boards will all be open for visitors to look at.

Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic and lunch in the gardens. Light hot and cold refreshments will be available, and Government House and other vendor products are on sale on the grounds. Live music is featured, as well as displays by community organisations.

ENTRY IS BY WAY OF THE MAIN ENTRANCE ON LOWER DOMAIN ROAD.
Parking is not available on the grounds but provision can be made for vehicles transporting passengers with physical disabilities. Please ring 6234 2611. Head to Government House Tasmania website for more information.

Open: Sunday 3 November 2024, 10am – 3pm. Head to Government House Tasmania website for more information.
