Real Tennis Club
45 Davey St, Hobart
No bookings required, just turn up!
Architects: Samuel Smith Travers (1875), H20 (2002)
The Real Tennis Club of Hobart is the oldest of the four remaining clubs in Australia. Dating back to the building of the court in 1875 on the site of a former brewery on Macquarie Street, Hobart’s club is hidden in plain sight.
But what is real tennis, you ask? Step inside the heritage-listed sandstone building opposite St David’s Park to find out; and catch a game while you’re there.
Open: Saturday 11 November 2023, 10 am – 1 pm
* On Saturday, 11 November, Open House Hobart ask everyone to observe a minute silence at 11 am for Remembrance Day.
