Roche Hall
73 High St, Oatlands

Roche Hall, opened in 1886 as the Oatlands Area School, stands on a site with a lively past. Once home to the 1827 Soldiers Barracks and later a Probation Station, it housed 100 convicts infamous for laziness and mischief, 18 were charged with rioting in a single day! Though the headmaster’s upstairs quarters are gone, you can still spot their outlines, alongside original stone walls at the rear.
Open: Saturday 1 November, 2pm-4pm
