Speaker Series | TMAG Bond Store Conservation Work | Purcell + Hansen Yuncken
TMAG, Dunn Place, Hobart
The Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG) is one of the oldest museum and art galleries in Australia. Following years of deterioration the recent preventative maintenance works at TMAG have restored the Bond Store and Watergate Wall to the state originally intended using traditional materials and techniques.
As part of Open House Hobart, the project team of heritage and construction experts will be hosting a panel event to talk through the restoration of the original slate roof and reinstatement of lime render techniques across the Bond Store and Watergate Wall.
The deep dive into the project and subsequent Q&A hopes to develop a deeper understanding of the significance of this project to not only the local community but the preservation of Hobart’s history for generations to come.
