Hidden in plain sight on Macquarie Street, The Hobart Real Tennis Club is celebrating 150 years of sport, history and charm! Founded in 1875, it’s the oldest real tennis club in Australia — and one of the oldest in the world. Step inside the beautiful heritage-listed sandstone building opposite St David’s Park and you’ll find a living slice of history where matches are still played on the original court. Whether you’re a sports lover, history buff or just curious about this quirky ancestor of modern tennis, come see why this hidden gem continues to serve up tradition with a twist!
