Exaltation Of The Holy Cross Church
3 Augusta Rd, Lenah Valley

Photographer: Leigh Woolley
Built in 1949, the Exaltation of the Holy Cross church was built for the first post-war Russian, Ukrainian, Serbian and Greek émigrés to worship in Hobart and Orthodox Christians from all backgrounds contributed to its construction. Founded by the late Mitred Archpriest Theodore Boriskevich, this temple is predominantly a mixed Russian, Serbian & Australian Orthodox community and still serves to support all Orthodox Christians in Tasmania.
