Tiger House

3 Begonia Street, Lindisfarne

Architect: Morrison & Breytenbach Architects (2017)

The clients describe this as a striking, individual house, which is unlike any other, meets all their needs and is beautiful to look at. Tasmanian architects Morrison & Breytenbach have used strong forms and sheened grey timber external cladding made from recycled scrap Tasmanian oak fence palings, to create the distinctive character of this unique and personal design. The Tasmanian feel is carried inside with golden Tasmanian oak flooring, veneer ceilings and joinery, flooding the interior with homeliness and visual warmth. Built by In2Construction, this is a well-insulated, energy-efficient house, combining passive design and active solar elements to achieve comfortable temperatures and space filled with natural light.
